The 1st XV game is basically a quarter-final shootout against local rivals, York, who have had the better off us in our two league games. The prize is an away semi-final against either Heath or Rossendale.
The squad welcomes back the skipper, who starts at number 8, and Jack Sowersby who comes back in at inside centre. Robbie Rix moves to full back and Ben Blacker starts on the wing. The bench is strong with Felix Nellen making a welcome return to the squad
The 3rd XV had a great win last weekend against Pocklington 2s, so this weekend sees them playing in the final for the fifth year on the bounce : at Beverley against Ionians 2nds. That is a fantastic achievement, no matter what the result is.
Whatever the outcomes from the weekend, the 1st XV and the whole club have had another successful season. And we still have the Yorkshire Cup Final to look forward to – we finally know who we are playing, as Goole beat Cleckheaton 17-15.
