The top four teams are slowly starting to get away from the rest of the league. The middle is getting very congested with York and Cleckheaton at the bottom. Don’t be fooled by that as things can easily change. We have just played all those top four teams and come away with seven points. Not getting a bonus point at Harrogate probably being the only real disappointment.
As we knew, Ilkley’s attack was going to be very good and that proved the case last week. Our defence wasn’t at its best as too many times we bit in on the ball carrier and left ourselves exposed wider out to which they took full advantage of. When we started to attack a little narrower it showed their defence to be a little vulnerable as we picked up a well-earned bonus point.
This week we nearly pick from full strength. Angus has returned to Aus to attend a family wedding (just for the week) and Ben Blacker is not yet quite fit. Rob Rix returns after missing last week as does Joe Robinson who takes his place on the bench where he is joined by the very welcome return of Ed Falkingham. Tom Green makes up the trio.
