Blaydon were the deserved winner in a game which felt like it could go either way in the first half.

The Blaydon No.8 showed why he is up there in the try-scoring charts, with four tries showing his experience from higher levels.

Both sides made mistakes in the windy conditions, but Blaydon had a bit more ball-carrying firepower to get the job done.

From a Driffield perspective, with a 17 year-old and two 18 year-olds in the squad, two players making League debuts and six others under the age of 23, they show plenty of promise.Ā  But, at times today, they potentially lacked the experience to play the conditions.Ā  But the experience will come – the quality is already there.

Not the result Driffield wanted and disappointing to not get a try bonus point at the end, but some really exciting times to come for the young Woldsmen.
