Driffield won the ball back from the clearance, and returned to attack but Selby’s defence was solid and up fast, forcing a series of knock-ons and missed passes, and many scoring opportunities went begging.

Finally, Driffield got it together and, with 16 minutes gone, scored a try through Barr.  From a line out on the right side the ball was worked down the line, and Barr cut inside to run the 15 metres to score left of the post.  The conversion was missed.  D 5 – 0 S

Almost straight after the restart, Barr was at it again, making a 40 meter break down the left of the pitch, but stopped with just five to go.

Soon after, Kelly had to leave the pitch with a shoulder injury, to be replaced by Robinson.

Selby were not down yet, and mounted a series of attacks which were only halted through hard work and solid tacking.  Finally, with 25 gone, Furbank hacked a loose ball through, pinned his ears back and took off after it, narrowly beaten to it just five out.

From the resulting scrum, the ball was worked quickly left and Will Hughes powered over for his second, and bonus point, try. The conversion was missed.  D 30 – 7 S

Not long later, starting at the half-way, quick hands found Scurry, who sold an excellent dummy to step inside his man and tear through from 25 out to score.  Stanyon converted.  D 37 – 7 S

Selby were straight back at Driffield, working the ball smartly to the right.  They found a gap out there to round the defence and go in at the corner, followed by an excellent touch-line conversion.  D 37 – 14 S

Now into injury time, and sensing the Selby defence up flat but with a gap out far right, a clever cross-field kick found an unmarked Brankley at the touch-line.  He galloped in unopposed and was able to run round to bob the ball down under the posts for the final try.  Stanyon converted.  D 44 – 14 S
